Line Switch Unit (LSU)

The Line Switch Unit has been developed for use with CONCEPT 32 telephone concentrator equipment to provide the facility to switch up to 32 speech pairs between two concentrators under keyswitch control.

The Line Switch Unit is modular in construction, and based on a 3U high x 19” rack mounted shelf capable of accepting between one and four 8-channel Line Switching cards.

The ‘common’ connections of the LSU are normally wired to the trackside (SPT) telephones. The ‘normally-closed” (unenergised) and ‘normally-open (energised) connections are wired to the two concentrators.

Control of the LSU is usually by a keyswitch and indicator situated on the local keyboard. Closure of the switch causes the LSU relays to switch to the normally-open position. Opening of the switch or loss of power to the LSU causes the relays to switch to the normally-closed position.
